Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

So, this book is written differently than the other 7 because it is written in a play form. I wasn't sure at first if I would like it, it was weird to read it, but that was only for about the first 10%. After that I really didn't care. J.K. Rowling is an amazing story teller and I loved this book. I thought it was better than the last two HP. Even though it was written as a play, I have a hard time visioning it performed on a stage. I would go see the play just out of curiosity to see how they pull it off. But I really really hope they'll make a movie after this book also.  I'm very happy she decided to write this book because for me it is a better ending than having HP story end the way it did. In my opinion books 6 and 7 were too dark. This one makes it all better.

Ladies' Room

Now this is how you write a romance novel. I loved the main characters. Unlike many frustrating love stories who have their female character a ditsy woman who turns into a wreck without a man beside her, Trudy is a strong woman who doesn't let her low life of a husband walk all over her once she accidentally finds out the dirt about him in the ladies' room. This book has great humor right from the first page. Trudy's daughter sounded like a spoiled brat from the beginning and I thought that the way Trudy handled her was also a sign of a strong woman and a mother, and what made her a great mom was that she was there for her daughter when she needed her the most, even after all the hard time she gave her mom. It was sad to read about Trudy's mother, it kind of hit home with me since I just recently lost my grandmother who had alzheimer. I loved how Billy Lee handled it. I loved his character and how their relationship grew gradually. To me this was a great book, loved the humor and it was well written. Bravo.

Final Verdict

My kind of book!  Good mystery, court room story / P.I. story. It is no 4 in a series. I haven't read the previous books, but it didn't matter I was able to get into the story and characters with no problem. The characters are great and proves that you can make a great P.I. book without making the main character be a dick. It didn't seem like he would be able to win his case and unfortunately the client died before he got his justice served, but I liked how the book ended and it makes me want to follow Mike and Rosie in Siegel's next books!

The Black Widow

Now we're talking. Back to reading real books. This book is unlike the last two books, it is very well written, although it starts really slow. It is close to home with all that is happening in the world so it really well could happen and actually has happened. Like I said, it started slow so I almost dreaded having to read it all, but in the end it was worth it because it picked up. It is more of a "guy's book", I think more men would like it than women, not that I'm into categorize books by gender. I go for both when it comes to books!

Stepbrother Charming

Well, this book was included in my Kindle library book "Prince With Benefits so of course I read it too. Almost the same thing to critic on as that book, slightly different plot, but of course the plot is paper thin and it is just an extra. It has no substance, again same as with PWB, degrading. I don't really have anything else to say, I would just be repeating myself.

Prince With Benefits

Oh, where to begin. Again, I do not like this genre, but there are good books in this genre in between. This is not one of them. Way unrealistic and extremely degrading towards women. I think it is very sad if young women are reading this and thinking it is OK to talk to and treat women the way Silas treats the woman he "loves"(?!). I mean seriously, he calls her "his whore" and she accepts it with stars in her eyes? Do any of you believe that a virgin would actually want to be treated like that for the first time or even enjoy it without any bad reaction whatsoever? And I never really got why he was so mad at his grandmother, and he hated the person his father was and still he acts exactly like him. I admit I often get frustrated while reading those kind of books, but seldom have I been so mad!
Please girls, respect yourselves and don't let anyone treat you like this. I know for a fact that the men worth being with treat you with respect, but can love the heck out of you in the bedroom without being this nasty and degrading. The spelling and grammar in this book was also terrible. "Ladies and gentleman".  I forgive typos sure. But when it happens three times or more it is not a typo. So she doesn't know the plural for the word "man".

Clapton

I really thought this was going to be an interesting read. My impression of Eric Clapton had always been good. He's a great musician and kind of had that "nice guy" look about him. This book, written by him makes him sound like a self centered S.O.B. The book is dry, mostly he mentions names after names and concerts after concerts. In between you can find a paragraph or two where there is actual biographical material. I got the impression that he has absolutely no respect for women or anyone else for that matter. The way he describes how he went after his "best friend's" wife without seemingly one iota of guilt. I was expecting heart wrenching description of his son's death. I wasn't expecting details and I can respect that he didn't want to delve into it because I would assume this is the most horrific experience a parent can go through. But the way he wrote about it is like he was someone very distant, not like a father. I skipped through a lot in this book, because there were nothing but names written on the page. I could have just as easily read the phone book.

End Of Watch

Stephen King. What can I say? He's the king! This is the 3rd book in a series. It's weird I know, but I didn't read the first two. I think it would have been better if I did, but I only read the covers of the other two. I was still able to get into it, I mean, it is The King after all. It has the supernatural theme of course, but in my opinion this was not one of his best, although still a good one. A little too far fetched but who cares. It is amazing how twisted he can get and how far out his mind works. Oh, how evil characters he can create. The book was heartbreaking in the end. In all, fascinating read.

Royal

Royal is book no 1 in Rixton Falls Series. The series in whole is not bad at all I have to admit although this kind of genre is a pet peeve of mine. The story has substance and you get into the characters easily. The main characters are likable and there are others that you really learn to hate. Having said that, what I had a hard time of accepting was how Demi's dad dismissed Royal so easily when he got arrested. After knowing him and practically raised him, why wouldn't he actually go and hear him out as a lawyer and check out the story. To me that was a bit off and unlike the character I felt her dad was. Royal could have easily held grudge against him for not believing in him, but I guess his love for Demi overruled that?

As previously stated, these types of books are not my thing, but I read them and other genres as well to keep myself open minded and I also have learned never to judge a book by its cover. This book is no 3 in a series and I have to admit those books actually do have substance and a good story line. I skip through the sex scenes because I really don't have to live my sex life through others and it bores me to the core to read about it. At times they are also rather demeaning towards women. This book is an OK read in my opinion and the series are about siblings and how they find their "love". The family is lovable and therefor gets a passing grade for me :)

Justice Redeemed

Wow!  This story could be very long drawn and boring, but the way he writes it makes it a fun read. It's almost like a Steven Avery kind of story. I felt frustrated and hopeless on behalf of Street, but it seemed like he himself had unlimited patience especially during his prison time. I liked the way the relationship between Street and his lawyer evolved. It was with ease, not extremely forced like seems to happen with many authors. I feel like we get to know the characters pretty well, not just the main characters and oh how I loathe Street's wife. She sounds like a horrible mother and wife.

Extreme Prey

This book is no 26 in the Prey Series and it is the 2nd book I have read in the series. I prefer mysteries to be a whodunit because I want to guess myself who the culprit is. However, the story is well written and kept me wanting to read more. Although you know who did it and the story is told from both the guilty party's point and the detective's point there were surprising plots.
This isn't a book that stands out for me. The main character is not memorable. I probably will read more from the other and even in this series in the future, but it's not on top my favorite list.

The Butterfly Garden

This story lets us into the world of twisted minds. It is brilliantly written and kept me interested the whole time, even though it's not like most thrillers in a way that it is not a whodunit. I found it morbid but in a fascinated way. Of course this is my favorite genre, kind of like Criminal Minds TV series. If you like that, you're going to love this book. The subject itself is of course not pleasant and breaks your heart, but great books and stories are supposed to make you feel.
The father and sons relationships was interesting, how each of them are different, but yet similar.

Me Before You

I'm reading Me Before You for the 2nd time.  I read the book, went to see the movie and now I'm reading it again.  I'll put it on my list of favorites.  The story is great and I love the humor.  When books are made into movies there are bound to be changes because of the limited time. I hate when there are too many changes in the storyline.  There weren't many changes in this case but of course some things were cut out.  The actress was fantastic, even more lovable than the character in the book.  Book + Movie, A+.

This isn't a typical romance which is also why I love it.  I get frustrated with most romances because I think they belittle women. 

Will and Lou are polar opposites.  He is grouchy and very negative (understandable considering the life he had is lost) but she has the Pollyanna outlook on life.  Of course it takes a Pollyanna to change the attitude of someone whose spirits is as low as Will's.  The change in their relationship from dislike to love is realistic, unlike most romance novels.
